Strategy. User Experience. Product Design.
The Problem
The Quadrant team wanted to create a solution to let their clients easily see and understand how their portfolio was performing. They also wanted to be able to use this tool to provide financial projections and manipulate different scenarios in real-time, so that when they were working together for future allocations, they could collaborate to make informed decisions.
Quadrant also wanted this portal to operate as an operational dashboard, so that they could send documents needing signature, retain historical records, and increase the efficiency with which they operated.
The Solution
First we sat with the team at Quadrant Wealth to discuss who the primary audience would be for the product. We created a sub-brand for the new product - Bree (named after the waypoint in The Lord of the Rings) and developed clear design rules for the new brand.
After clearly identifying needs (and a set of nice-to-haves) we created wireframes and led the client through an exercise to determine the best set of tools to maximize value for the primary user set - internal advisors. My team designed an easy to use interface that integrated with legacy systems and presented complex this financial information in an easy to display (and digest) manner.
The Result
Bree has now become the defacto method for Quadrant’s advisors to share financial modeling with their clients. It was also so well received that Quadrant is examining the possibility of offering it as a true SaaS platform for other advisory groups.
